Club Manager is an extension for Joomla! 2.5 which allows management of club membership, such as a sports club. It is easy to use and very flexible. Users can manage their members into categories such as teams and social groups. This component provides users with the ability to manage their club in a flexible and professional manner.

Once the back-end administration is complete, add a category menu item. Simply select the desired category from the list and you will have a new page which shows the members. Alternatively, you can create a menu containing links to individual members.

For an example of the component, please see the Hitchin Lacrosse Club website.

Download the latest version of Club Manager.

If you are using Joomla 1.6+, you can automatically update to the latest version using the built in updater. Go to 'Extension Manager->Update' and select 'Find Updates'. If an update is available, select it, and then choose 'Update'.

(NOTE: The latest version is 1.4 which is designed for Joomla! 1.6. If you are running Joomla! 1.5, you need to use Version 0.5

FAQs

  • How can I get the category list to display more than 20 members? Go to the Global Configuration page and change the "Default List Limit" to the desired value.
  • Why do I get the message "JFolder::files: Path is not a folder"? Use media manager to create a directory 'members' in the 'images' directory.
  • How can I change the names of the fields that are displayed? Most field names are specified in the language file and can be changed by editing en-GB.com_club.ini.
  • How can I change how other fields/layouts are displayed? Use a template override: http://docs.joomla.org/How_to_override_the_output_from_the_Joomla!_core.
  • Why are the images distorted? The images are scaled to 250x209 - The member images must have the same ratio to appear correctly.
  • How do I upload member images? Just use the Joomla media manager to upload pictures into the correct directory (images/members).
  • Where do I put uploaded club category (team) images? images/categories
  • Can I import members from another source (CSV, MySQL, spreadsheet)? Yes, you can insert members in bulk by directly manipulating the database. Use the MySQL command line client or phpMyAdmin to add rows to the jos_member table.
  • I have another problem, which is not mentioned here, what should I do? Switch on the debugging options in the Joomla "Global Configuration" page and see if you can get a more informative error message.
